The Moorland Miniatures Story

Moorland Miniatures has been designing and making fine miniature collections in fine pewters since the early 1990s. Pieces have been produced in the adjoining Counties of Devon and Cornwall in the United Kingdom since the studio started. Early pieces were produced from the famous Barbican s

ea front in Plymouth, Devon and the foothills of Dartmoor before the studio moved back to its spiritual home where the family have lived and worked for many hundreds of years - the tiny fishing village of Cawsand in South East Cornwall where it remains today.

As with its pieces the enterprise is small and wishes to stay that way to ensure that continuing attention to detail and excellence continue.

Nothing is rushed at Moorland Miniatures and you can be sure that your piece will represent many hours of skilled and inventive endeavour by its creators.

To produce a Moorland Miniatures collector's piece for you involves several stages of skilled activity :

  • Formation of the design concept
  • Sculpting and origination of the 3 dimensional piece
  • Mould Making
  • Pewter pouring
  • Cleaning and Polishing
  • Hand painting
  • Assembly
